SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 8 – Yefrel Brito was
charged with conspiracy to
commit murgder in aid of
racketeering.
On June 8, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Jesse M. Furman
held a change of plea
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Brito said that,
as part of a gang, he traveled
to Soundview and was present
when a rival gang member was
shot and killed.
The AUSA said the
victim's name: Nelson Ramos,
on January 6, 2019.
During the
change of plea proceeding,
Brito was asked, Do you want
the vaccine?
Judge Furman
urged him to get it, noting
that it had seemed that he
said yes. (At the time, Judge
Furman said, Get it, just not
right now).
Sentencing was
set for October 5 at 3:30 pm.
The case is US v.
Brito, 19-cr-625 (Furman)
