SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 24 – Pedro Geraldo Lopez
has been in pre-trial
detention on drug conspiracy
charges since March. He
initially agreed to detention
on consent.
On April
23, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge P. Kevin Castel
held a bail hearing Inner City
Press covered it.
In
the current case, DOJ says it
has evidence of mailing in of
kilos of cocaine from Puerto
Rico, and multiple USPS status
queries.
Lopez'
lawyer offered to have him
remain confined to his
residence.
But Judge
Castel cited a criminal
history back to age 16 and
found no combination of
conditions to release him.
The case is US v.
Lopez, 21-cr-234 (Castel)
