SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 28 – Rafael Almonte was
sentenced to 38 months in
prison in 2018 in a narcotics
conspiracy. Now in 2021 there
is an alleged Violation of
Supervised
Release.
On September 28
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Alison J. Nathan held an
in-person VOSR proceeding.
Inner City Press went to
Courtroom 110 in 40 Foley
Square and covered it.
Judge
Nathan had noted the
difficulty in providing
Almonte, now appeared in an
orange Westchester County
Valhalla jail jump suit, with
remote access back on
September 14.
So she
ordered it in person, and
greeted the White Plains based
Federal Defender who
appeared.
Judge
Nathan set the next proceeding
for January 20 and said it too
would be person, as she said
should most proceedings in the
absence of a set-back in
public health.
The case is US v.
Almonte et al., 17-cr-440
(Nathan)
