SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Dec 20 – Marc Richardson sued
Complex Media for allege
copyright infringement on his
rights to a photo of UK rapper
Skepta.
On December 18
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Jed S. Rakoff held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Much of the
issue center around whether
the alleged infringement was
on Complex's "UK" Instagram
account, and whether the
mattered. But then one of the
lawyer's accused his adversary
of "falsehood."
Judge
Rakoff took umbrage,
suggesting that in the future
the word "inaccurate" be used,
since falsehood implies
intentional mendacity.
The case is
Richardson v. Complex Media,
Inc. et al., 20-cv-6201
(Rakoff)
