SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 13 –
Anthony Cruzado was charged
with sending a threatening
letter and white powder to a
New York State judge, and
pleaded
guilty.
On April 13, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Lorna G. Schofield held a
sentencing proceeding. Inner
City Press covered it.
The defense spoke
of Cruzado's mental issues,
and difficult childhood.
Letters of support were
submitted, from A. Burstyn
under seal, and a social
worker not under seal.
The US Attorney's
Office asked for 41 to 51
months, consecutive to a
sentence Cruzado is serving in
Florida.
Judge
Schofield, citing the judge's
victim impact statement,
imposed a sentence of 24
months.
The case is US v.
Cruzado, 20-cr-565 (Schofield)
