Material Beyond MDC Visiting Room

SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 20 – Orlando Carmona
Serrano was charged in a
sealed indictment in a drug
and guns
conspiracy.
On
May 20, 2021U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Jesse M. Furman held his
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The defendant
said he didn't have a copy of
the indictment, then
acknowledge that his lawyer
had read it to him, in the
Essex County Correctional
Facility.
He pleaded not
guilty, and it seems he will
not be tried with his initial
co-defendants.
Judge Furman
inquired into a victim of
Count 2 and told the
prosecution to be expeditious
in tracking down, if they can,
the victim.
On January 17,
2022 - Martin Luther King Day
- the US Attorney's Office
about another co-defendant in
the case wrote to oppose Judge
Furman signing an order which
would allow the use of laptop
computers to view 3500
material in the MDC "visiting
room or such other location."
The US Attorney's Office said
the 3500 material, anywhere by
the Visiting Room, could
"raise significant safety
concerns for Government
witness."
The overall case
is USA v. Blondet, 16-cr-387
