SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 18 – TrustPilot has been
sued for trapping small
business customers into
auto-enrolling for its
services, which the
complainant calls of limited
value.
In a
complaint filed on Martin
Luther King's Day in the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York,
TrustPilot Damages LLC says
that TrustPilot was enabled by
Denmark's national investment
fund,
Vaekstfonden.
It cites
wellsfargo.com and
wellsfargo.net as examples in
the scheme.
It quotes
investigations by BBC and The
Times of London.
The case is
TrustPilot Damages LLC v.
TrustPilot Inc. et al.,
21-cv-432 (Unassigned)
