SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 28 – A contractor
building the East Elmhurst
Branch Library Expansion" in
Queens failed to makes its
ERISA payments in 2017 and
2018; the union sued.
On
September 28 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Barbara C.
Moses held a proceeding. Inner
City Press covered it.
It emerged
that the parties were near
settling, but that in the
union there are numerous steps
for such a settlement.
The amount at
issue, some $78,000, was
described as small.
Judge
Moses agreed to refer the
parties to mediation, and to
extend but not stay discovery.
