SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 1 –
Juel Roundtree requested but
was not given dental treatment
while incarcerated in
the George R. Vierno
Center (GRVC) on Rikers
Island. He has
sued.
On July 1, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Jesse M. Furman
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Judge Furman has
asked Roundtree to show cause
why he has not served Medical
Administrator Roberts and John
and Jane Doe. So they are now
out of the case.
Judge Furman has
certified under 28 USC
1915(a)(3) that any appeal
from the order would not be
taken in good faith, so in
forma pauperis status
is denied for the purpose of
an appeal.
The case is
Roundtree v. NYC et al.,
19-cv-2475 (Furman)
