SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 19 – The Port Authority of
New York and New Jersey has
been sued for discriminatory
targeting and false arrest of
men using the Port Authority
Bus Terminal bathrooms.
On February
5, U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge John G. Koeltl held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
While the impact
of the COVID-19 pandemic on
the bathrooms (half of which
in Grand Central, for example,
are closed) remains unclear,
Judge Koeltl pointedly asked
for the Port Authority's view
in the relevant time period on
whether they could arrest gay
men for being gay.
The case is
Holden et al v. The Port
Authority of New York and New
Jersey et al., 17-cv-2192
(Koeltl)
