SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 12 – A skateboarding
accident on 7th Avenue and
West 38th Street in Manhattan
has given rise to a product
liability
lawsuit.
On October 12 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
John P. Cronan held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The
defense lawyer for Future
Motion, Inc argued that the
plaintiff conducting his own
testing of the skateboard was
out of bounds for a product
liability case.
Counsel for
plaintiff Shaun Martinez said
the case was straight forward,
that the device did not give
enough warning before throwing
her client off.
Judge Cronan
talked about JAMS, and about a
potential referral to
Magistrate Judge James L.
Cott.
The case is
Martinez v. Future Motion,
Inc., 20-cv-5984 (Cronan)
