SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 7 – Dorian Avery was
serving a 106 month sentence
for selling oxycodone when he
applied, amid COVID, for
compassionate release.
On July 7, U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Jesse M. Furman held his
sentencing. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge Furman has previously
granted Avery compassionate
release. And now, in
all-too-rare good news, even
the US Attorney's Office said
Avery had complied with
everything, from quarantine to
all conditions of release.
Judge
Furman congratulated Avery and
sentenced him to time served.
The case is US v.
Avery, 12-cr-934 (Furman)
