SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Feb 11 – In a long running
lawsuit involving the use of
Jimi Hendrix' name and his
likeness on T-shirt
distributed at events by the
Hendrix Music Academy run by
Tina Hendrix, an issue of
contempt of an injunction was
resolved on February 11.
U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Paul A. Engelmayer
questioned Tina Hendrix under
oath: on how the non-profit is
run, about her website and Go
Fund Me page.
He cautioned her
not to guess, to be
specific. At
the end, Judge Engelmayer
thanked her lawyer for
allowing it, and said that
contempt is off the table.
He said,
now you know you live in a
world that the law can touch.
Beware. The case will
continue.
It is Experience
Hendrix, L.L.C. et al v.
Pitsicalis et al., 17-cv-1927
(Engelmayer)
