SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 25 – Simon and Lori Zarour
sued Chubb and Pacific
Indemnity Company for not
paying out on insurance
policies for damage from
Superstorm Sandy on October
29, 2021.
But it has been
years, and the case has
stalled.
On
October 25 U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge John P.
Cronan held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered it.
Judge
Cronan closely questioned
plaintiffs' lawyer Tomas
Espinosa of North Bergen, New
Jersey about the delay, once
saying "Give me a break."
But
Espinosa kept advocating,
explaining the delay in
appraisal and arguing against
the case bein dismissed for
failure to prosecute.
Judge
Cronan, aiming to decide
things on the merit, did not
dismiss - but did order
letter(s) about recommending
an umpire, by October 29.
The case is
Zarour et al. v. Chubb &
Son, Inc., et al., 15-cv-2663
(Cronan)
