Ebel has sued the Onion, G/O
Media and James Spanfeller for
gender discrimination and
retaliation.
On March 2,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Paul A. Engelmayer held
a proceeding. Inner City Press

The Onion is
being sued for gender
discrimination and
retaliation, after it was
bought by private equity firm
Great Hill Partners.
Katie
Pontius has also sued James
Spanfeller (who is quoted as
telling her she would be
"reporting to 'moi.'"
Now defense lawyer is saying
that Pontius never engaged in
"protected activity."
Spanfeller
is also quoted as asking /
telling her, "How does that
fell, Madame
C-Suite?"
Complaint: "Plaintiff found
this language patronizing and
sexist."
Now lawyer:
This is a straight-forward
discrimination
case.
Spanfeller is being sued by
others as well.
