SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 27 – Stafford Broumand,
M.D. sued under the Federal
Arbitration Act, seeking to
force arbitration in New York.
From California and elsewhere,
there's been opposition.
On January
27 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Jed S. Rakoff held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
It was
noted what a high percentage
of cases the Supreme Court is
take are about the FAA. And
now this issue, whether the
100 mile radius is waived if
the arbitration is virtual.
Judge Rakoff
called it an interesting issue
he has yet to write on.
He promised a
bottom line ruling by Friday,
with a written decision after.
The case is
Broumand v. Joseph et al.,
20-cv-9137 (Rakoff)
