SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 7 – Henry Platt had a
life estate in paintings by a
relative. He also had a long
time companion, who now stands
accused of selling the
paintings after his
death.
On July 7, U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Edgardo Ramos held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Talk turned to
the companion, and also to a
proceeding in the Surrogate's
Court to appoint an
administrator. It was to have
occurred on June 23, but was
adjourned to August 16.
So Judge
Ramos stayed the federal
proceeding pending the outcome
in Surrogates Court.
The case is Platt
et al v. Michaan et al.,
19-cv-4234 (Ramos)
