SDNY COURTHOUSE,
August 11 – Arthur
Hayes, Samuel Reed and others
are defendants in a money
laundering / Bitcoin
case.
On February 9, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
John G. Koeltl held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The case is
about BitMEX, which allegedly
had no AML program.
On August 11,
Judge Koeltl held a length
telephone proceeding with 39
on the line. Inner City Press
was one of them. Issues of the
Commodity Futures Trading
Commission refusing to turn
over discovery arose and was
debated at length. So
too a hard drive as to which
privilege was allegedly
waived. The docket is replete
with redacted exhibits.
The case is US v.
Hayes, et al., 20-cr-500
(Koeltl)
