SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 3 –
Pedro Deaza is charged with
shooting a gun in front of a
nightclub in April 2022 - as a
violation of supervised
release. He was offered bail
condition, in a proceeding
that Inner City Press
witnessed -- but now that has
been reversed.
On May 3, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Paul G.
Gardephe during a break in and
that after the Hezbollah trial
of Alexei Saab held a
proceeding reviewing the
previous decision to release
Deaza. Inner City Press
covered it.
Since the
appearance in the Magistrates
Court, the US had come up with
photos. The defense tried to
keep them out, but Judge
Gardephe midday said they are
relevant.
Then near 5
pm he heard more argument and
ruled: detention. He expressed
surprise at the earlier
decision to offer bond. The
next proceeding will be on
June 7 at 10 am.
The case is US v.
Deaza, 15-cr-233 (Gardephe)
