SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 21 – Wengui Guo, described
as a dissident Chinese
billionaire, sued Logan Cheng
in Nevada for defamation, for
his Tweets.
Then Cheng
sued Guo.
On January
21, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Katherine Polk
Failla held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
At issue
were Cheng's discovery
requests to Guo, about his
income and also a story in his
Nevada complaint about going
to the well as a child to make
sure his mother had not thrown
herself in.
Judge
Failla asked, Why do you need
discovery on that?
The answer was,
credibility - then veered into
Guo saying he does not own the
[pardoned] "Steve Bannon"
yacht is is filmed on, and
which according to the
plaintiff has left New York
for the winter as it is not
weatherized.
Judge
Failla made some
recommendations about
narrowing the scope of
discovery.
The case is Cheng
v. Guo, 20-cv-5678 (Failla)
