SDNY COURTHOUSE,
August 25 – Trevor McKoy was
charged with being a felon in
possession of a firearm, to
wit, a 9mm Luger pistol
dropped in a bush on Fish
Avenue in The
Bronx.
On
August 25 U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Jesse M. Furman
held a sentencing proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
Federal
Defenders contested whether a
previous conviction was as a
youthful offender, and asked
for 37 months. The US
Attorney's Office asked for
the range they had agreed to:
37 to 46 months.
Judge
Furman praised the defendant's
letter to him, and said he
hoped he would have a bright
future, mentioning the music
industry.
He imposed a
sentence of 46 months, to be
followed by three years of
supervised release.
The case is US v.
McKoy, 20-cr-229 (Furman)
