SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 21 – MZA Events sued Erich
Bergen for his "attempt to
detail a high profile charity
event" involving Elton John
and David Furnish called AIDS
Walk: Live at
Home.
On October 21 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Denise L. Cote held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Counsel
for Erich Bergen called the
lawsuit abusive. He said his
client is an actor without
many resources, and that MZA
is asking for hundreds of
thousands of dollars they
claim they might have made if
the event scheduled for May
16, 2021 had gone forward with
the video Bergen promised.
Plaintiff's counsel said this
wasn't the time to litigate
the merits. Judge Cote
mentioned SDNY Magistrate
Stewart D. Aaron.
The joint
proposed pre-trial order
submitted says depositions
shall be completed by January
26, 2022.
The case is MZA
Events, Inc. v. Bergen et al.,
21-cv-4460 (Cote)
