SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 5 – Julio Poey-Lopez was
charged with drug dealing in
2018 and got a time served
sentence plus supervised
release. Then he was charged
with a violation of supervised
release.
On May 5, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Paul G.
Gardephe held an in-court
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Poey-Lopez
said he no longer recognizes
the man he was, and said he
wants to show that to society.
The AUSA
recommended time served,
noting that the not admited
Specification 2 might not be
true: it was possible that the
defendant never got notice
that he needed to appeal. He
got, again, time served.
The case is US v.
Poey-Lopez, 18-cr-534
(Gardephe)
