SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 3 – John Garcia pled
guilty to robbing five Boost
Mobile stores in The Bronx,
with a maximum sentence of 20
years, on June 3 before U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Paul A. Crotty. Inner
City Press covered it.
Garcia
said he did it because he was
addicted to drugs, but that he
was sorry.
His Federal
Defender stipulated that there
was Federal jurisdiction
because Boost Mobile is not
based in New York, and three
iPhones made elsewhere - in
China - were
involved.
Crotty set
the sentencing for October 22,
significantly later than Judge
Berman did for another guilty
plea taken on June 3 -- July
22.
The case is US v.
Garcia, 19-cr-593 (Crotty).
