SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 16 – When Jeffrey Parnass
flew on British Airways from
Gatwick to JFK on May 29,
2017, the footrest of his seat
got lodged in a halfway
upright position, resulting in
leg pain. He sued, citing the
Montreal Convention.
On July 16
U.S. District Court of the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Kevin N. Fox
held a lengthy proceeding.
Inner City Press covered it.
Judge Fox read a series of
detailed rulings, largely
criticizing BA - but the court
reporter repeatedly had to ask
for repetition, as sound cut
out. BA did not even search
its email for the term
"footrest."
The case is
Parnass v. British Airways
PLC, 19-cv-4555 (Vyskocil /
Fox)
