SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 13 -- Adrien Fiseku was
charged in a jewelry store
robbing conspiracy, and on
November 15, 2019 he said he
had no pre-trial motions to
file.
On March 13, 2020
he quietly pled guilty, with a
plea deal for 41 to 51 months.
Inner City Press was the only
media there.
The trial
had been set for April 20, now
within the postponement zone
established by SDNY Chief
Judge Colleen McMahon.
Fiseku's lawyer
Nathaniel Z. Marmur told U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrates Court Judge Ona T.
Wang that his client has
prepared a written
allocution.
Judge Wang
laughed and said this was
probably for the best, given
the complexity of the elements
of the crime read out by
Assistant US Attorney Andrew
Chang.
Fiseku said he robbed jewelry
stores, including in
Manhattan, from 2007 to 2017.
Judge Wang accepted his plea
and set June 11 as a control
date. The case is US v.
Fiseku, 18-cr-767 (Marrero).
