SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 3 – Anthony Flynn pled
guilty on January 9 to five
bank robberies committed in
May and June of 2019. Once
with a knife, once with threat
of a gun, and the other three
times merely with a
threatening note.
All told,
Flynn stole $6000. His
sentencing guideline is 151
months. US District Court for
the Southern District
Magistrate Judge Debra Freeman
asked him about the notes.
What had they
threatened?
He said
they threatened violence. But
he also said, What threat were
they under, behind bullet
proof glass?
On June 6,
2019 he tried to rob the Chase
Bank branch at 335 Columbus
Avenue in Manhattan. But the
teller refused to give him any
more. Later that
same day, he managed to rob
another Chase Bank branch on
Queens Boulevard in Forest
Hills.
As Flynn
pled guilty under his 151
month deal, in the gallery
where Inner City Press was the
only media was banker Stephen
Calk, who used a ran that he
RAN to make fraudulent loans
to Paul Manafort to try to get
a job with the Trump
administration.
Calk has been out
on bail, and has sought to
move the case for his
convenience to Chicago.
Both men's cases
are before SDNY Judge Lorna G.
Schofield, who agreed this
week to seal documents for
Calk. This case is US v.
Flynn, 19-cr-585 (Schofield).
