SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 1 – Ruben Ayala is
detained on gun and drug
charges.
On May 31,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Vernon S. Broderick held
his arraignment. Inner City
Press covered it.
When asked,
Ayala asked that the
arraignment be read out loud
to him, which is rare. Judge
Broderick did it.
After that, the
AUSA summarized that the felon
in possession of ammunition
charge is, he said, about
shooting an individual in the
stomach. (The prior felony
allows the government to
Federalize the case).
The AUSA also
mentioned crack
cocaine.
Judge Broderick set a next
conference ro July 28 at noon.
The case is US v.
Ayala, 22-cr-282
(Broderick)
