SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 30 – Felix Ortiz was
stopped by police, allegedly
because he was on a moped on
the sidewalk at 134th Street
and St. Ann's Avenue in The
Bronx on October 17, 2020. He
was found with a gun, and is a
felon.
On
January 29, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Judge Katherine Polk Failla
held an arraignment and
detention hearing. Inner City
Press covered it.
Judge Failla
asked why Ortiz had been
search, then rephrased her
question as too normative.
But she
determined to release Ortiz on
bond, while issuing him the
standard warnings to comply.
The case is USA
v. Ortiz, 21-cr-20 (Failla)
