SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 5 – Paul Shargani sued
the New York City Department
Of Environmental Protection
for discrimination and hostile
work environment.
On June 3,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press went and covered
it.
Shargani
says DEP's Dennis Delaney said
"I'm going to make sure that
Iranian M.F. doesn't get
promoted" and "How does he
feel about the Taliban?"
Shargani's
lawyer on June 3 said his
client is of Jewish descent.
Judge Hellerstein asked if he
had suffered demotion.
He previous
dismissed the portion of the
lawsuit alleging retaliation.
Now the City says after
discovery it envisions moving
for summary judgment.
The case is
Shargani v. New York City
Department Of Environmental
Protection et al., 21-cv-337
