SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Dec 5 – Jerry Lewkowitz
fell on a stairway with no
handrails in Lamego, Portugal
in the Six Senses Douro Valley
Hotel. He sued in New
York.
On December 4 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Judge Lewis J. Liman held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Lewkowitz
is citing the building codes
of the City of Lamego and the
District of Viseu, and
Portuguese Civil Code Article
483.
Judge
Liman indicated it made sense
that motions be made before
discovery, given the forum non
conveniens issues.
The case is
Lewkowitz v. Intercontinental
Hotels Group Resources LLC et
al., 20-cv-7759 (Liman)
