SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 28 – Jamal Perez was
convicted of "card cracking"
and deposing false steps; he
has been on supervised
release.
On June 23, 2022
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Vernon S. Broderick held
an in-person violation of
supervised release proceeding.
Inner City Press went and
covered it.
In the
gallery were the defendant's
father and girlfriend (meeting
for the first time). At
defense table, a new CJA
lawyer. The tale that emerged
was of arrest in Florida, then
a long transit to the
Westchester County Department
of Corrections via the Federal
transfer facility in Oklahoma.
There was also said to be a
warrant in Oklahoma. As such,
the defendant consented to
detention for now.
The case is US v.
Perez, 19-cr-12
(Broderick)
