SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 15 – Jibril Adamu is
awaiting sentencing for
distributing narcotics on an
aircraft; he was arrested in
Croatia.
On July 15, 2022 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Paul G. Gardephe held a public
proceeding. Inner City Press
went and covered
it.
The conference
was triggered by a letter
Adamu sent to Judge Gardephe,
stating that "I am being
denied the assistance of
counsel as my counsels have
become near or
non-existent."
Judge Gardephe
asked Adamu if he now felt
differently. Apparently he
did. It was declared that the
transcript would be sealed.
But the courtroom
was not.
While not
required, Inner City Press is
not reporting anything that
might harm the defendant.
Sentencing is set for July 27
at 3:45 pm.
The case is US v.
Adamu, 18-cr-601
(Gardephe)
