SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 23 – Northwell Health,
Inc. sued Lexington Insurance
Company for "refusal to
provide insurance coverage
under an 'all risk' property
policy for Northwell's"
COVID-19 losses.
On
March 23, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Jed S. Rakoff,
in a break between jury notes
in the Eaze criminal trial he
has bene presiding over, held
a telephone proceeding. Inner
City Press covered it.
Discussion
had just begun when one of the
participants left their device
unmuted, and playing on-hold
music.
Judge Rakoff at
first spoke over it, then
commented on it, saying it
reminding him of the era of
Muzak.
Finally he
said, I'll sign the case
management plan and we'll
adjourn - you're welcome to
stay on the line listening to
the music. The lawyers
laughed.
The case is
Northwell Health, Inc. v.
Lexington Insurance Company et
al., 21-cv-1104 (Rakoff)
