SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 23 – Isaac Levy was
Chief Technology Officer of
CloudTalk until that company's
Jonathan Frankel terminated
him without paying severance,
and then moved to
Israel.
On March
1, U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge John G. Koeltl held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The move to
Israel was discussed as
relevant to diversity
jurisdiction. Judge Koeltl
asked why a motion had been
filed without the pre-motion
conference required by his
rules.
The
explanation, candidly, was a
lack of experience with or
research into those
rules.
Judge Koeltl held
another proceeding on March 23
and Inner City Press again
covered it. The diversity
issue is still not solved;
there was talk of a fifth
property being bought in
Connecticut.
This time, Judge
Koeltl asked for more on the
basis of diversity by March
31. If not resolved, there may
be jurisdictional discovery
until May 17.
The case is Levy
v. Cloudtalk, Inc. et al.,
20-cv-10545 (Koeltl)
