SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Dec 10 – Guido
Subtovsky rented Apartment 7B
of 34 Leonard Street for
$25,000 a month.
Then, amid COVID,
the landlord Queenwood 34 LLC
removed the 24 hour a day
concierge.
Subtovsky moved
his family to New Jersey but
says he intended to keep using
the Manhattan pied a terre
three days a week. But the
landlord locked him out for
non-payment, and sued
him.
On
December 10, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Lewis J. Liman held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The landlord said
Subtovsky has no defenses and
they'll move for summary
judgment. Subtovsky's counsel
said, What about the warranty
of habitability?
Judge Liman
said a May 20 date after
whatever discovery they'll be.
(Subtovsky's lawyer mentioned
the doorman). Judge Liman
predicted a one day trial.
The case is
Queenwood 34 LLC v.
Subotovsky, 20-cv-8433 (Liman)
