SDNY COURTHOUSE,
September 1 – Brian Fierro on
the ship MV Glovis Companion
as it left the Port of
Baltimore had an accident and
"fell landing onto a crew
member standing of the deck of
the pilot launch boat
sustaining severe and
permanent bodily injuries." He
sued.
On September 1 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge P.
Kevin Castel had scheduled a
proceeding. Inner City Press
called in to cover it.
The
complaint noted "the hazards
of climbing pilot ladders have
for many years been reported
frequently by organizations
such as the International
Maritime Organization."
It emerged
that the parties were
settling, and the call was
over before it began. And
later, as promised, a notice
of dismissal was entered in
the docket.
The case is, or
was Fierro v. NOCC Shipowning
AS et al., 21-cv-5228
