Man Who Sued NYPD and Hospitals Faces HIPAA Demands and Last Chance in SDNY

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Dec 14 – Ramos Mejia sued the NYPD and several hospitals in 2016.

On December 14 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Lewis J. Liman held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

The defendants were complaining that Mejia was not prosecuting the case and that is should be dismissed.

Judge Liman asked Mejia if he wanted to proceed. Of course, he said.

There followed a detailed discussion of medical treatment and HIPAA forms.

Mejia explained about a Charles Wang Clinic.

Judge Liman said this is his last chance to comply.

The case is Mejia v. New York City Health & Hospitals, et. al., 16-cv-9706 (Liman)
