SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 2 – Taiwan or the Republic
of China lent Zaire now the DR
Congo $20 million in 1991. Now
DRC is not paying, and Taiwan
has sued.
Taiwan's
Ex-Im Bank on December 29
filed to U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Jesse M. Furman
a status report; Inner City
Press found it in the
docket.
Taiwan's
Ex-Im Bank's counsel says they
met with DRC Minister of
Justice Rose Mutombo - but
that nothing has happened
since, according to Benita
Kindongo.
The case is The
Export-Import Bank of the
Republic of China v.
Democratic Republic of the
Congo, 16-cv-4480 (Furman)
