SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 1 – South Korean Shinhan
Bank's New York subsidiary has
been sued an employee who says
he was fired after refusing to
cover up money laundering
deficiencies at the
bank.
Gu Seon Song
filed his lawsuit on December
30 in the U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York, where Inner City
Press found it in the docket
that same day.
The
plaintiff describes Shinhan as
lagging behind in remedial
projects it promised to the
FDIC, and Tae Won Suh being
dispatch from South Korea to
clean up the mess. But Suh
ordered Song to cover it up
and he refused and was fired.
Gu
has sued for a Depository
Institution Employee
Protection Remedy.
On March 1, the
assigned District Judge Paul
A. Engelmayer held a
conference and issued this
schedule: "This case is to be
tried to a jury. Counsel for
the parties have conferred and
their present best estimate of
the length of trial is 3-4
days. The next Case Management
Conference is scheduled for
Aug. 5, 2022 at 10 AM.
Deposition due by 5/30/2022.

7/1/2022. Expert Discovery due
by 8/15/2022. Case Management
Conference set for 8/5/2022 at
10:00 AM before Judge Paul A.
Engelmayer."
On June 24, Judge

jury. Deposition due by

due by 9/13/2022. All Expert
Discovery due by 10/28/2022.
Depositions to be completed by
August 24, 2022. Counsel for
