SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 30, updated – Haswani
Tyson was part of a robbery of
a livery cab driver in 2015
that resulted in the driver's
death.
On July 30 he was
up for sentencing before U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Valerie E. Caproni.
Inner City Press covered it.
Tyson had
been in a facility where
inmates even before COVID-19
were not allowed out when
temperatures are below 55
degrees.
Judge Caproni
gave weight to that.
She sentenced
Tyson to three and a half
years with the last six months
- beginning now, it seems, to
be in a halfway house. We wish
him well.
The case is US v.
Tyson, 15-cr-537
(Caproni)
