Conductor Sues LIRR Over Suicide By Train Smashing Cab Windshield So Aug 3 Sit Down

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Maxwell Book
BBC-Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN NY Mag

SDNY COURTHOUSE, March 29 – Cleon Neil Delgado sued the Long Island Railroad after being the train conductor when "an individual who had been hiding behind a shelter on the darkened platform committed 'suicide by train' by throwing himself into the windshield of the train" he was operating, by-passing the Merillion Avenue Station.

On March 29, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge James L. Cott held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

Both counsel referred delicately to the "unfortunate incident" underlying the case. LIRR's lawyer said he'll have to see the medical records.

Judge Cott scheduled an in-person settlement conference for August 3 at 2:30 pm.

The case is Delgado v. Long Island Railroad Company, 22-cv-678 (Cott)
