SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 27 – A car crash on 26
July 2019 between a vehicle
owned by Bunzl Distribution
Leasing, Inc., and another
driven by Ebony Edwards give
rise to a lawsuit filed in
August 2019 in The Bronx.
It was
quickly removed to the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York.
There, SDNY Judge
Lewis J. Liman on April 22,
2020 held a conference,
covered by Inner City
Press.
Due to COVID-19,
the was a push to delay
everything. Judge Liman pushed
back, bringing up the
possibility of remote
depositions. While the
proposal was for a mere
"status conference" on
December 11, 2020, Judge Liman
changed that to TRIAL on
December 14, 2020.
Will there by
juries by then? Some judges
have been saying no. We'll
see. This case is Edwards v.
Dykes, et al., 19-cv-10222
(Liman).
