SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 23 –
In a copyright lawsuit about a
photograph of U.S. Supreme
Court Justice Ruth Bader
Ginsburg, the plaintiff and
defense conferred and extended
their times for filing.
But they
forgot to tell the
judge.
On January 21,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge P. Kevin Castel held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Once he
learned of the side agreement,
Judge Castel asked, Do you
think judges sit around
looking at the docket of their
cases, or have elves to do it
for them? There were
apologies.
The case is
Creative Photographers, Inc.
v. Julie Torres Art, LLC et
al., 21-cv-9597 (Castel)
