SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Dec 28 – Mirtill Lewis was
working construction on New
York Presbyterian / Columbia
University Hospital in
Washington Heights on
September 17, 2018 when he
fell from an elevated height.
He sued.
On December
28 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Lewis J. Liman held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The
complaint is mostly about who
had a contract with whom,
whether it was verbal or in
writing. The proceeding began
late, and Judge Liman chided
one of the lawyers for
appearing late.
The lawyer
replied he had been at a
virtual memorial and his alarm
went off late.
Talk
turned to whether mediation
would be conducted in the
courthouse. Not before April,
certainly, Judge Liman said.
The case is Lewis
v. Shawmut Woodworking &
Supply, Inc. et al.,
18-cv-8662 (Liman)
