SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 15 –
New York City's handgun
restrictions have been sued
under the Second Amendment.
But the case will have to
await the US Supreme Court's
decision in NYS Rifle and
Pistol Association v. Bruen,
No.
20-843.
On March 14, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
John P. Cronan held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Citations
was made a dissent by Justice
Amy Coney Barrett when she was
on the Circuit Court.
Judge
Cronan stayed the case, and
asked for a joint letter
within seven days of the
Supreme Court deciding Bruen,
which he estimated will happen
in early July. He acknowledge
that the time is not knowable.
This case
is Srour v. New York City, New
York et al., 22-cv-3 (Cronan)
