Fraudster Barbera Was Bailed But Now
Indicted and Pleads Not Guilty in SDNY

SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 10 – Back in
December James Barbera,the
former founder and chief
executive officer of a
nanotechnology company based
in NY, was charged by
complaint with securities
fraud and wire fraud, stemming
from a scheme to defraud
investors in the
company.
On March
10, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge John G.
Koeltl held an arraignment.

it.
While Barbera had
been released in December on
$1,000,000 bond secured by a
Central Park West apartment,
on March 8 a formal indicted
was filed.
He retained two
new counsel, and on March 10
pleaded not guilty. The next
conference is on June 15.
