SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 7 – A manwas sued for "sex
trafficking Jane Doe to Peter
J. Nygard." He responded, the
plaintiffs complained, by
threatening to publish the
name of his accuser and to
depose her for seven hours or
more.
On October 7,
2021 U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Edgardo Ramos held
a proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The plaintiff's
complaint said that the man
"lured, enticed, recruited and
transported Jane Doe to
Nygard's apartment...Upon
competition of the rape, [he]
then transported Jane Doe back
to his private apartment where
he also sexually battered Jane
Doe."
Plaintiff's
counsel said they want to
forego any discovery and go
straight trial. The defendants
said that is a strategy is is
not giving in to,
"Nosireebob."
He said he
has a right to depose Jane
Doe. He asked why he can't be
John Doe.
On
February 9, 2022, the case
flared up again. The
plaintiff's law firm was
complaining of what they
called threats from the man.
He, in turn, asked Judge Ramos
to order the press release be
taken down or modified. This
was not ordered, but the man
was invited to sue the law
firm, as much as he wanted,
with qualified immunity. Where
are the photos of me with
Nygard, the man demanded. With
"Hilaine" Maxwell, he said,
they had photos.
The case remains
Doe v. Baram et al.,
20-cv-9522 (Ramos)
