SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 23 –
Tanisia N. Baker sued a series
of publishers and their owners
for unpaid royalities. That
was in
2019.
On March
22, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge John P. Cronan held
a proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Many of
the defendants did not show
up. Judge Cronan found that
they were on noticed, and said
he would enter a default
against them on liability.
He said he
would refer it to Magistrate
Judge Gabriel W. Gorenstein
for an inquest into the amount
of damages. The case is
Baker v. Weber et al.,
19-cv-1093 (Cronan)
