SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 16 – Kevin Taylor, Gary
Robles and Michael Mazur were
indicted for the death of
Joshua Robin while robbing him
of marijuana near 1021
McDonald Avenue,
Brooklyn.
On January
5 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Laura Taylor Swain held
a proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
At issue
was when to schedule a trial.
Judge Swain suggested October
or November, noting that she
may have to hand it off to
another judge given her
responsibilities in the Puerto
Rico bankruptcy case.
One of the
defense counsel countered that
he has a multi-defendant
Puerto Rico murder trial in
the Fall.
On April
16, with the case re-assigned
to Judge Jed S. Rakoff,
another proceeding was held
and Inner City Press again
covered it. Judge Rakoff, in
the middle of a jury trial
concerning the slashing of
cooperating witness, asked if
the counsel here would stick
with the schedule agreed to
before Judge Swain. Yes, was
the answer.
The case is US v.
Taylor, et al., 20-cr-227
(Rakoff)
